What does it take to speak
when you are speechless?
What does it take to smile
amidst the storm?
What does it take to carry
what you cannot bear?
Is it love or is it foolishness?
Who would die
for someone insignificant?
Who would wander and look for a lost lamb
like a crazy vagabond?
Who would heal the unworthy
from brokenness?
Who would bring such good news
to the ignorant?
Is it love or is it foolishness?
People think it is foolishness
People treat it with contempt and scorn
For a man beaten, tattered, and torn
To do these things not for a friend but a foe
For the latter to live against the flow…
What does it take to wait
and not to lust?
What does it take to speak
of the unspoken?
What does it take to touch
the life of the unloved?
What does it take to write
the unwritten?
Not foolishness, my friend,
it is something greater
So vast, it makes me ponder…
What rules the Earth,
and the heavens above?
Simple, friend, simple…
It is Love.
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
