Horizon

(c) August 2010

Lo the horizon of cowardice
Cloaked in the burst of purple and orange
Painted by the Master’s hands of grace
Offered to a soul of solace

Lo the horizon of the brave
Rejected? Accepted? A puzzled gaze
Trapped in a room where she faced
A choice she had to make

Jump into my precipice
Sayeth the Voice of Peace
Leap my child and feel my embrace
Look not towards the horizon of haze

The stubborn heart lay
Motionless, terrified, dazed
Numbed by the skies of gray
Gaze upon my beautiful disaster, she prayed.
